dan brodie
Dan’s explosive paintings employ bold colours and expressive mark making to generate a sense of heightened reality, in turn helps to elicit a feeling of being in an imaginary place and time that rubs up against our own sense of certainty. His frequent use of thick paint over much thinner layers, allowing some of the latter to show through, reflects a weakening of the veil between this fictional reality and our own. His recent body of work is superficially about a fictional cult characterised by goat-worship and pipe-smoking, but really an examination of contemporary disinformation and the rise of new social and political orthodoxies.
Dan graduated in 2026 with an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art.
